Often times, simplicity truly is best. Erica and Cory dreamed of an intimate wedding where they would shift most of their focus away from the scope of a traditional wedding and into capturing and remembering their love on this day. They wanted to stray away from planning a wedding and made it a priority to focus on what they knew for sure: they wanted to marry each other.
We started the morning taking portraits at The Menil Collection, taking advantage of how uncrowded it was, and finding unique ways to utilize different spaces and corners of this stunning location.
Some of our favorite images from this session were the ones where we played with the contrast of harsh shadows and harsh light, and shifted those conditions to our advantage to compliment Erica and Cory beautifully. Throughout the years we have spent capturing couples, we have realized that the best images happen in moments that set themselves up unexpectedly. Often times we are just walking and talking, and we see our couple do something that catches our eye or we see a spot that draws in our attention. We utilize these effortless moments and capture. We are always proud of the outcome.
After we took their portraits, we made our way to the courthouse where two of Erica’s friends joined us, alongside the Judge, to witness them as they said “I do” in an intimate wedding ceremony. From the moment where we were waiting in the hall to when they sealed their commitment with a kiss, every image in between tells the story of this day.
After the ceremony ended, Erica and Cory were all smiles! We couldn’t help but to continue capturing their joy as they exited the courthouse. Despite the fact that it began to rain, their excitement was evident!
We are excited to be sharing more from this intimate wedding and hope you are able to relive this day with us as you browse through some of our favorite images from this memorable day.
