The Post Oak Hotel is absolute perfection for Houston engagement photos!
Not every couple opts to do their engagement session in the place where they will be getting married, but when I asked Hanieh what location she wanted for her photos, she did not hesitate to say she wanted them in the same place where we will be capturing their wedding day in the spring: The Post Oak Hotel.
Once we arrived to the session, we were actually told by management that they had not allowed photo sessions at the hotel since the lockdown, and that we were the first session they made an exception for. I felt incredibly lucky that they gave us a chance and knew that we had to make the most of our time there.
The manager that helped guide us as we were there let us know that the staircases and chandeliers at the hotel were two of the most iconic things to take photos by. So that is exactly where we went. From sitting down to walking along the staircase, we made sure to grab as many photos as we could there.
While we were inside the hotel, it was bright and sunny which allowed us to get gorgeous natural light and even play around with some harsh light hitting them. Then out of nowhere, in a good ole Houston fashion, it suddenly got dark and started pouring. Thankfully we were indoors.
We waited enough time for it to clear up then we went to the park, where it was slightly damp from the rain and kind of gloomy already. In the park, their dogs met us and we were able to grab some gorgeous family pictures, run around, laugh, and even pop champagne!
Overall, we had a great time these houston engagement photos and are highly anticipating capturing their wedding in the spring!
